Started racing in BARC Cannons tin top challenge as part of the Chappell Coachworks team in 2008. Terry had multiple class wins and an outright win at Lydden Hill, Canterbury.

Dave caught the racing bug and started racing at the end of the 2007 season having watched friend Gary competing in the championship throughout the year. His first full season of competing saw Dave finish 3rd overall in the BARC Cannons Tin Top Challenge championship.
